The spikey is back!!!!

Noah needed another haircut. Since he cries so much when it is cut, we decided to do it at home. He still cried, but not as bad. Daddy distracted and Mommy clipped. Yes, I used the clippers. Brave, huh? I started with the sides, and that went well. Kind of. Jeremy convinced me to use the guard for around his ears. I did exactly what he said, and well, you can see the results below. I decided to leave it because a guy once told me that the difference between a good cut and a bad cut for a boy was about 1 week.
Then I started on the top. It was coming out very uneven. So I changed out guards to 2 sizes bigger than the sides. I looks great except for that one spot. I am soooo happy that the spikey is back. Daddy wants to gel it down. Mommy wants to gel it up.

He told me to go the wrong direction. It will grow back.

Just a reference to what it looked like before the 1st haircut.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was a pretty good day. Noah had been sick the day before and couldn't go back to school yet so I got to stay home. I had bought 2 pumpkins several weeks ago, but never got around to carving them. I thought that it would be great fun to carve a pumpkin with Noah. And although I had fun, Noah was of no help.

The scene of the massacre.

This is what Noah did while I carved. He liked them once I was done.

Off to go trick-or-treating. First stop, Mamaw and Papaw's house.

We didn't even make it half way back to our house when Noah stopped to check out what he had gotten.

I think he is pooped from all the visiting we did.

Daddy didn't get to go with us because he was working, but we went to check out our pumpkins when he got home.

Bookworm

We have quit the little reader on our hands. He is constantly bringing anyone who will read to him a book. At this age, he is not so much interesting in reading as in pointing out what is in the pictures. However, there are a few Dr. Seuss books that he will sit for the whole book.

He's a maniac, maniac

Noah wanted to put on Daddy's socks. I laughed so hard when Jeremy brought him to me. He looks like a throw-back from the 80s. You know when women wore leotards and leg warmer to aerobics classes.

Biting

There is a biter in Noah's class. He came home several days with bite marks on him. We discovered them at bath time. Because of this, his daycare started doing "Bumps, bites, and bruises" checks. Lots of paper work to sign. He hasn't bitten yet, but some of the others are learning from the biter. Hopefully, this is a faze that will pass soon.

Mommy will make it better.

Not a baby anymore

So, Noah was getting a bit shaggy. I took him in alone to get his haircut. The lady used clippers on him. I agreed because I didn't understand what she was about to do. He now has a real little boy haircut. He looks so handsome. Doesn't he?

Eating New Things

He is finally eating new things. Pretty much anything fried or put between bread or tortillas. We had an adventure not long ago where I let him feed himself Spaghetti-Os. You can image the mess.
Yes, more ended up on the outside than inside, but at least he tried something new.

A Father's Worst Nightmare

So, Noah has been very interested on putting on Jeremy and my shoes. You know flip-flops or sneakers. And for a while now, he is always taking my shoes out of the closet. We have to keep that door shut when he is in our room. Apparently, I had left some heels by the front door the night before. On this morning, Noah decided to try them on. He actually did okay walking in them once he got them on right. (Yes, Mommy helped) He has done this several times since.

4-wheeling

We have found that we cannot go into the workshop without taking Noah for a ride on the 4-wheeler. Just once around the yard will do. As soon as he steps foot in the workshop, he runs over to it and tries to climb on. Obviously, he doesn't get very far. He is also learning how to start it up and make it go.

I just thought this was cute.

This is what his hair looked like when he woke up that morning.

Eating Update

As you know, Noah is a picky eater. We have finally quit giving him any baby food. We had stopped at home, but continued at daycare because it was a fight. Now, he gets regular food everywhere. We hope he gets better. We have to distract him with the dogs, fan, or book to get him to take a bite. We just need to be patient and eventually he will take to it. We will be happy when he can feed himself. Wait! I said that wrong. We will be happy when he will feed himself because we know he can. He does it every morning for breakfast and every snack. He is just being stubborn. Just like his father (okay, and mother)!

I also worry that he isn't getting enough to eat. Before, I knew exactly how much he ate. It is harder to gauge now. Am I expecting him to eat too much? Is he not getting enough? Do I need to give him vitamins to supplement the change in diet? I just have to remind myself that things will get better.

I promise that new pictures will come soon.

Back to the Grind

I know that it has been awhile since I posted last. I have been a little buzy. Noah and I had 2 weeks of swimming lessons. Then I had 2 days of cheer practice, 2 days of lesson planning, and finally 3 days of cheer practice. I am so thankful to have a wonderful neighbor who loves us. She stayed with Noah so I could do all of this.

Friday was Noah's first day back at daycare. Can you say meltdown? He feel on the floor crying but was fine after a few minutes. We are knee deep into separation anxiety.

Today was my first official day back to work. It was Noah's 2nd day in daycare. Yes, another meltdown. It also appears that he may also be getting sick. Hopefully, it won't turn into an ear infection. We have been without one since April. Watch, I said the word and now he will get one.

Picky Eater

So, Noah's doctor told us at his 15 month appointment that we really needed to force the issue and make him switch to regular food. Yes, Noah still wants his baby food. We have tried 3rd foods, Graduates, mashed potatoes, bean, etc. I've listened to advice from everyone I know. He'll eat pancakes, biscuits, toast, and peanut butter sandwiches without a fight. He cries through almost every bite when we feed him anything else. It is sooo frustrating. Everyone says that as soon as their baby tried regular food, they didn't want baby food. Not mine. Did we wait too long or is he just stubborn? I'm leaning towards stubborn.

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Okay so we didn't eat peanuts and Cracker Jacks, but we had a great time. Sunday, we took Noah to his 1st major league baseball game. We joined some friends for the Astros vs. Cubs at the Juice Box. The thing is Daddy is a Texas Rangers fan. Don't think for a minute that the Astros fans will let him forget that Noah's 1st baseball game was an Astros game. The Astros lost which of course made him happy. I guess Jeremy and Chris brought Ranger karma with them.

Trip to the Rio Grande Valley

Noah and I just returned from a week long visit with my family in the Valley. Jeremy had to work in Kansas so it was just the 2 of us. I learned the best way to travel long distances with him is leave around 6 pm. It worked great. I had no problems.
Anyway, it was a fun-filled week. My sister has moved back so Mom's house was packed with kids. We went swimming almost everyday, played outside tons, visited Gladys Porter Zoo, and ventured to South Padre Island. We had a great time, but I'm glad to be home.

Handsome Boy!
