King's Orchard

So Friday we loaded up early and headed out to the King's Orchard in Plantersville to do some pickin'. We were hoping to get some veggies, but ended up only picking blueberries and peaches. It was a great time. Noah did quite a bit of pickin' himself. Thanks for the great idea Necie!

It take muscles to do this much pickin'.

The loot.

Can you see the sweat on his brow? He was a hard working boy.

He was not interested in taking this picture. He was ready to go home.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

This is what Noah wanted to do for Daddy's birthday. We had dinner with some good friends at Cheddar's. And as far as his present, he opened it a week early because he figured out what it was and needed it for his trip. Stinker!

Snow Day!!!

Wasn't Al Gore who predicted a warm, dry winter? Here in Central Texas, it is currently neither warm nor dry. And NO SCHOOL today!!!

My little snow angel.

Can you see the orange hat and little guy walking towards me? They are both armed with snowballs.

Sliding in the snow is so much fun.

Of course, he had to ride around in the snow.

These 2 dogs were confined to the backyard because they still reeked of skunk.

4th of July 2010

We spent the weekend at the lake with good friends and good food. Thanks to Casey, we saw some great fireworks.

Casey rigged them all up with fuse cord. It worked for all but 4. Good job, Casey!

Communication failure. Mommy thought Daddy put on sunblock. Daddy thought Mommy did it.

1st time with a sparkler.

Frio River 2010

The Roberts clan took off for their annual Frio River trip in June. Weather was wonderful. Floating was better than last year. Food was great. Visiting was better. Sunburns were plentiful. We had a great time.

Picture is a little cloudy because of the humidity.

Playing at the river is always fun.

Jerod is trying to spray the floater with a water gun.

Why is it that they always insist on bathing together when they are together?

Hunting in New Mexico

So Jeremy & Daddy go drawn to hunt Mule Deer in New Mexico. We thought long and hard (about 5 seconds) and decided that we would make it a family trip. I worried a lot about camping in the mountains for a week with a 2 year old. He did wonderfully. He spent his days 4-wheeling with Mommy, rolling in the dirt with his cars, eating, and riding around looking for various animals. After dinner (which was around 6:30), we headed into the tent to watch a movie on my laptop because it was already too cold to be outside. Yes, it was very cold and we did sleep in a tent with a wood burning stove. The morning temperatures ranged from 3 to 12 degrees F. It would warm up quickly once the sun came up, and cool down quickly once the sun went down. We went from Sat - Thur without a shower. We only had a few sponge bathes. Jeremy did finally get his deer after 20 years of hunting the area. I have to say the we had a great time. I would definitely do it again, but not anytime too soon.

Loves Football!

So Friday morning, I dressed Noah in his A&M football jersey. He instantly started talking about football. "Uh watch football. " "Uh play football." I thought it was cute. We said bye to Daddy, loaded up, and headed to school. All the way to school, football, football, football. I turn the corner to his school, and he came unglued. He started screaming about football. I suddenly realized that my poor little guy thought I was taking him to watch football, and he suddenly realized he was going to school instead. I felt horrible. For anyone wondering, he has been watching football with Daddy since he was a little more than 1. He loves football. So the lesson is: Don't dress him for football unless he is going to watch or play football.
